Garcinia Spicata (Garcinia humilis)
Regular price $119.95Native to Southeast Asia, this garlicky, durian-like fruit has been a curious and rare wonder of the exotic fruit world.
Sought after aesthetically for its highly-decorative qualities, the Garcinia spicata sports glossy, thick leaves in its dark green, globe shaped canopy. Its tolerance for salty-spray zones makes the Garlic Fruit tree great for shoreline hedging. They grow well within containers as well. Their flowers are a delicate white and grow into orange-yellow fruits of bitter, tart, garlicky flavor.
The Garlic Fruit creates a resin known as Gamboge, a highly-concentrated combination of bioflavonoids and terpenes that were traditionally used in Ayurveda and supposedly sport hefty lists of benefits.
