Our plant team is growing! All current available positions are located at the Sow Exotic Nursery in Winter Haven, Florida.
Fulfillment Team Lead
Sow Exotic is a small, family-owned rare, fruiting, and edible plant nursery located on a 2 acre food forest. The Fulfillment Team Lead manages the order production line at Sow Exotic. This role’s primary tasks include organizing, packing, and moving inventory to meet Sow Exotic’s delivery deadlines and quality expectations. This position is based at the Sow Exotic Nursery in the Fulfillment Office and Greenhouses. This part-time, hourly position will report to the Nursery Manager. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a good listener, and a collaborative team member!
The training period for this position will be 2-4 weeks after hiring.
Hours:
- Monday - Thursday
- 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Hours may adjust seasonally.
Requirements & Responsibilities
Order Fulfillment:
- Print and package orders for shipment using cloud-based shipping software, ShipStation and Shopify
- Organize/create/update orders
- Be proficient in our entire packing process and all materials
- Maintain the standard of organization and presentation of order packaging across Fulfillment Team
- Work directly with the Nursery Team Lead to ensure order quality and achieve shipping deadlines
- Communicate order information with Customer Care Team and directly with customers via email when necessary
Team Management:
- Weekly check-ins with supervisors, Nursery Team Lead and Care Team Lead
- Mange team schedules
Office Management:
- Manage shipping supplies inventory; order, receive, stow, and organize all office supplies and products
- Manage shipping office organization
Additional Requirements:
- Requires work both indoors and outdoors in a greenhouse environment and in occasional and seasonal inclement Florida weather (hot, rainy, cold).
- Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs repeatedly and 50+ lbs occasionally and to perform repetitive movements and tasks which include but are not limited to squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, standing, walking (on uneven ground) and lifting over the shoulder.

Nursery & Fulfillment Assistant
The Nursery & Order Fulfillment Assistant is responsible for assisting with day-to-day plant production and order fulfillment at the Sow Exotic Nursery. This includes picking/packing plants and garden products, growth and propagation, quality control, inventory management, pest management and maintaining efficient workflow.
Our ideal Fulfillment Assistant is passionate about growing rare fruiting and medicinal plants, is hard-working, self-motivated, organized, reliable, determined, hard-working, a positive team player and a creative problem solver who will seize any opportunity to make a positive impact and thrives working outdoors. Nursery and fulfillment experience is preferred but not required. We're looking for hardworking and dedicated individuals!
This is a part-time, hourly position that reports directly to our Fulfillment Team Lead.
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:30 am - 4:30 pm. Schedule may adjust seasonally.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare plants for shipment with speed and accuracy, including plant pulling, re-potting, pruning, organizing, packing, and shipping.
- Be able to or learn to identify a diverse collection of edible plants in our greenhouses.
- Maintain excellent plant quality and greenhouse and workstation organization, including prepping all workstations for the day
- Pruning, watering, weeding, consolidating, pest management, etc..
- Assist with the day-to-day management of supply and greenhouse inventory
- Unload/load delivery trucks, receive and stow incoming nursery and supply inventory ensuring accuracy
- Plant, propagate (seed, cutting, air-layer) grow, water, transplant, weed, pest control, prune and generally care for the plants with high degree of efficiency
- Perform repetitive movements and tasks which include but are not limited to squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, standing, walking and lifting over the shoulder. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably.
- Work proficiently and collaboratively with all teams to balance duties as needed, at or above the rate expectation for each task
- Requires work both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to handle occasional and seasonal inclement Florida weather (hot, rainy, cold).
- Perform additional nursery/fulfillment-related duties as needed.

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
