Fulfillment Team Lead

The Fulfillment Team Lead supports the order production line at Sow Exotic.  This role’s primary tasks include picking, packing, and moving inventory to meet Sow Exotic’s delivery deadlines and quality expectations. This position is based at the Sow Exotic Nursery in the Fulfillment Office. This part-time, hourly position will report to the Nursery Manager. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a good listener, and a collaborative team member!

Hours:

  • Monday - Thursday
  • 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Hours may change seasonally.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Print and package orders for shipment using cloud-based shipping software
  • Organize/create/update orders 
  • Be proficient in our entire packing process and all materials
  • Quality Control: Maintain the standard of organization and presentation of order packaging across Fulfillment Team
  • Work directly with the Nursery Team Lead to ensure order quality and achieve shipping deadlines
  • Communicate order information with Customer Care Team and directly with customers via email when necessary
  • Weekly check-ins with supervisors, Nursery Team Lead and Care Team Lead
  • Manage, order, receive, stow, and organize all packing and office supplies
  • Manage shipping office organization
  • Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 30 lbs repeatedly and 50+ lbs occasionally and to perform repetitive movements and tasks which include but are not limited to squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, standing, walking (on uneven ground) and lifting over the shoulder.
  • Requires work both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to handle occasional and seasonal inclement weather.

Fulfillment Assistant

The Fulfillment Assistant supports the order production line at Sow Exotic. This role’s primary tasks include picking, packing, and moving inventory to meet Sow Exotic’s delivery deadlines and quality expectations. This position is based at the Sow Exotic Nursery in the Fulfillment Office. This part-time, hourly position will report to the Fulfillment Manager.

Hours:

  • Monday - Wednesday
  • 8:30 am - 4:00 pm. Hours may change seasonally and have the potential to grow to full time.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a good listener, and a collaborative team member.
  • Can maintain the standard of organization and presentation for order packaging.
  • Can perform fulfillment duties at or above the rate expectation for each task:
    • Order Fulfillment: Prune, pick, pack all orders.
    • Inventory: Unload and load trucks. Receive and stow inventory, from production to fulfillment, ensuring accuracy.
    • Can perform additional related duties as needed.
  • Ability to life a minimum of 30 lbs repeatedly and 50+ lbs occasionally
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements and tasks which include but are not limited to squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, standing, walking and lifting over the shoulder.
  • Requires work both indoors and outdoors. Must be able to handle occasional and seasonal inclement weather.

Nursery Assistant

The Nursery Assistant is responsible for assisting with order fulfillment and day-to-day plant production, inventory management, and quality control at the Sow Exotic Nursery.

Our ideal Nursery Assistant is passionate about growing rare fruiting and medicinal plants, is hard-working, self-motivated, thrives working outdoors, and will seize any opportunity to make a positive impact. This is a part-time, hourly position.

Hours:

  • Monday - Thursday
  • 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. Hours may change seasonally.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Nursery experience preferred but not required. We're looking for hardworking and dedicated individuals 
  • Work closely with the fulfillment team and other nursery assistants to prepare plants for shipment with speed and accuracy: pulling, re-potting, pruning, and organizing plants for shipment with speed and accuracy.
  • Work outdoors in a greenhouse environment and in occasional and seasonal inclement Florida weather (hot, rainy, cold). 
  • Must be able to quickly learn to identify a diverse collection of edible plants in our greenhouses
  • Maintain excellent plant quality and greenhouse organization. This includes pruning, watering, weeding, consolidating.
  • Assist with the day-to-day management of greenhouse inventory
  • Unload/load delivery trucks, receive and stow incoming inventory ensuring accuracy
  • Send weekly report emails
  • Use cloud based inventory management software
  • Plant, propagate (seed, cutting, air-layer) grow, water, transplant, weed, pest control, prune and generally care for the plants with high degree of efficiency. Propagation and grafting experience preferred.
  • Perform repetitive movements and tasks which include but are not limited to squatting, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, standing, walking and lifting over the shoulder.  Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably.
  • Work proficiently and collaboratively with all teams to balance duties as needed, at or above the rate expectation for each task
  • Perform additional nursery-related duties as needed.
