Important Shipping Information:
Live plants ship Monday through Wednesday (and sometimes Thursday) via 1-3 Day Priority Shipping following a brief processing period. Some Tools, Citrus, and Apparel may require additional processing time of up to 1-2 weeks. Learn more about caring for your new plants when they arrive with our New Plant Care Guide.
Shipping live plants in the winter? No problemo! Just don't forget to add a Heat Pack to your order if your delivery address is 35 degrees or lower. More on that below.
Sow Exotic ships nationwide year-round to the United States. We use plant-based, plastic-free, reusable, recyclable, biodegradable, or compostable packaging materials. Learn more about our Plastic-Free Shipping methods.
Most of our plants ship ready-to-plant in biodegradable Plantable Pots, with the exception of citrus. Citrus ships in specialized citrapots that are recyclable and reusable. Shipping & Handing Cost
Shipping cost is calculated at checkout based on your order weight and your distance from the nursery. Shipping is combined for multiple orders with plants, so the more you grow, the more you save!
Order Processing & Shipping Schedule
Live plant orders are processed at the beginning of each week and ship on Monday-Wednesday (and occasionally Thursday) via 1-3 Day USPS Priority Mail. Order processing time before shipment may average from 1-14 days during the peak season. Expect up to 1-2 week processing for Citrus, Garden Tools, and Apparel. Processing time may vary based on season. Trust that we work hard to deliver your plants as quickly and safely as humanly possible!
Tracking Your Order
As soon as you place your order, you will receive order confirmation and a link to your Order Status Page. You can view and track your orders progress online any time via your Order Status Page!
When your order ships, we'll send you a shipping confirmation and tracking info to let you know it's on it's way! We'll also send you delivery confirmation as soon as your order has been dropped off!

Weather Holds + Spring Pre-Order
Waiting for the perfect time to plant? You can order now and request a custom weather hold until your preferred arrival date. Please email shipping@sowexotic.com to request a custom hold. Due to the seasonal nature of live plants, we can't always make it happen, but we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Shipping to Hawaii & Puerto Rico:
Yes, we ship to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and the United States Minor Outlying Islands! Almost all of our plants ship (bare root, of course) to Hawaii & Puerto Rico. Due to USDA restrictions, here's the list of a plants that we can't ship to the Islands:
