Blackberry 'Snowbank White' (Rubus) is a unique variety of blackberry known for its distinctive white fruit, which sets it apart from the typical black or red berries. This cultivar is a deciduous shrub that typically grows to a moderate height and spreads easily. The leaves are usually green, with a slightly serrated edge, offering a lush backdrop for the unusual berries.

The 'Snowbank White' blackberry produces flowers that are small and white, blooming in spring. These flowers give way to the striking white berries, which are ready to harvest in late summer or early fall. The berries are similar in size and shape to traditional blackberries, but their color is a creamy white, sometimes with a slight blush. They are known for their sweet, slightly tangy flavor, making them a delightful addition to desserts or for eating fresh.

This variety, developed by legendary plant breeder Luther Burbank, is also valued for its hardiness, disease resistance, and ease of growth. It can adapt to a variety of soil types, though it prefers well-drained, fertile soil. Full sun is ideal for the healthiest growth and maximum fruit production. 'Snowbank White' is also relatively resistant to common berry pests and diseases, making it a low-maintenance choice for gardeners. Regular pruning and support structures can help manage its growth and improve yield.

Growing great so far in 100° temps

I have several blackberry plants here in sunny hot Arizona, but had an empty spot so I thought I'd try this. It arrived a tiny seedling, but I threw it into the ground after a few days and I'm surprised after several weeks it's really produced leaves quickly. The heat doesn't seem to faze it at all.

A little scrawny, but I’ll give it some time. I’ve had great success with every plant I’ve ever purchased from sow exotic.
