Longjack aka Tongjat Ali or Malaysian Ginseng is an ULTRA RARE herb native to Southeast Asia where it grows in the wild and is cultivated for it's potent performance enhancing medicinal root.

You can use all parts of the plant for a Longjack plant as a supplement, but the bark and roots are harvested most frequently. The plant has a bitter herbal flavor, which is an acquired taste for people who use it regularly.  The lengthy, twisted roots of Longjack can allegedly be used as an herbal supplement, with some belief that it can boost stamina or athletic performance, increase muscle mass, and promote testosterone in the body. Longjack contains compounds called quassinoids, including eurycomaoside, eurycolactone, and eurycomanone, which may help your body use energy more efficiently, reduce fatigue, and improve endurance. It also contains flavonoids, alkaloids, and antioxidant compounds that can generally benefit your health.

Longjack is a slender evergreen shrub that makes up the under story of lowland forests in Indonesia, where high humidity and acidic soil helps the plant flourish in low light and shade. Eurycoma longifolia can rise to a towering 33 ft, with stems and leaves spiraling away from the tree’s branchlike trunk. Young plants need shade to develop a strong root system, but will do well with more sun exposure overtime. Longjack is not a self-pollinating plant, which isn't an issue at all if you're just growing the plant to harvest its root for medicinal benefit. However, if you're trying to grow Longjack to seed, you'll want to grow multiple plants for the best luck at pollination.
