Star Fruit 'Sri Kembangan' (Averrhoa carambola)
Guava 'Kilo' (Psidium guajava)

Sweet Tropical Harvests, Grafted & Ready

Bring home two exceptional tropical fruit trees chosen for flavor, productivity, and faster harvests. The Kilo Guava is a vigorous evergreen fruit tree with glossy green foliage, delicate white flowers, and large, aromatic fruits with soft pink flesh, juicy texture, and a sweet tropical fragrance. Known for its impressive fruit size and rich flavor, this guava variety is a standout for fresh eating, smoothies, jams, and backyard orchards. The Sri Kembangan Star Fruit adds a unique touch with its graceful branching habit, glossy leaves, small pinkish-purple flowers, and clusters of golden, star-shaped fruit with crisp texture and a refreshing balance of sweetness and tang.

Both varieties are grafted for improved fruiting performance and are ready to bring tropical abundance to your garden sooner than seed-grown trees. Native to warm tropical regions, guavas thrive in subtropical environments while star fruit flourishes in humid tropical climates, making this pairing ideal for gardeners looking to create a productive edible landscape. Together, these rare fruit favorites offer beauty, reliable harvests, and a taste of the tropics right outside your door.

Cultural & Culinary Significance

Guava has been cultivated for centuries throughout tropical America, the Caribbean, and Southeast Asia, where it is cherished as both a fresh fruit and a culinary staple. Its fragrant fruits are enjoyed in juices, sweets, jams, pastes, and traditional desserts across many cultures. Star fruit, also known as carambola, has deep roots in Southeast Asian cuisine and is valued for its unique shape, refreshing flavor, and versatility in fresh dishes, drinks, preserves, and garnishes. In tropical communities, both trees represent abundance, homegrown nourishment, and the connection between gardens and daily life.

Growing Tips

(Also known as: Kilo Guava, Pink Guava, Tropical Guava, Psidium guajava; Sri Kembangan Star Fruit, Carambola, Starfruit, Five-Corner Fruit, Averrhoa carambola)

Both trees thrive in warm, tropical and subtropical climates with plenty of sunlight. Plant in full sun for the best flowering and fruit production, ideally receiving 6–8 hours of direct light daily. Choose well-draining soil rich in organic matter. Guava is adaptable to a variety of soils, while star fruit prefers fertile, slightly acidic soil with consistent moisture.

Water regularly during establishment, keeping soil evenly moist but never waterlogged. Mature trees are moderately drought tolerant but produce the best harvests with consistent watering during flowering and fruit development. Both plants appreciate humidity and warm growing conditions.

These tropical fruit trees prefer temperatures above 60°F and should be protected from frost. Young plants are more sensitive to cold and may need protection during freezes. Feed with a balanced tropical fruit fertilizer throughout the growing season to encourage healthy growth, flowering, and fruit production.

Prune lightly to maintain airflow, shape the canopy, and encourage manageable growth. Remove dead or crossing branches and thin dense growth as needed. Both trees can be grown in large containers when provided with adequate space, drainage, and regular feeding, making them suitable for patios and small gardens. In warm climates, expect vigorous growth and potential fruit production within a few years, with grafted trees often producing sooner than seedlings. Protect from strong winds and monitor for common tropical pests such as scale, aphids, and fruit flies.
