It's time to go Bananas!

Sow Exotic now carries the 'Dwarf Maoli' variety of Musa Banana genus plants. The Dwarf Maoli cultivar is native to Southeast Asia and the Pacific.  It is a herbaceous plant that is fast growing, capable of reaching large heights including up to 8 feet! The Dwarf Maoli has large, thick leaves and because of this is capable of resisting strong winds. Like most other Musa species, the Dwarf Maoli cultivar requires plenty of sunlight, and moist, well drained soil.

What makes the Dwarf Maoli Banana so special is it's prized taste and wonderfully rich yellow-orange fruit pulp. These Bananas are huge, and shaped like sausages, making them perfect for cooking! The leaves are traditionally used to wrap around meat before cooking, with added spices. This imparts a great and exotic flavor to share with family and friends!
