Regular price $19.95Vigorous Red Raspberry with Extended Harvest
‘Caroline’ Raspberry is a robust, everbearing variety prized for its upright canes and generous production of medium to large, deep red berries. The fruit is softly conical with a delicate drupelet structure, offering a rich, sweet-tart flavor and an aromatic finish. Its foliage is lush and green, forming a dense, bushy habit that supports continuous flowering and fruiting from late summer into fall.
Developed for adaptability and productivity, this cultivar thrives across a wide range of temperate climates. It stands out for its exceptional heat tolerance compared to traditional raspberries, making it a reliable performer in warmer regions. The berries are ideal for fresh eating, preserving, and desserts, while the plant itself adds a classic orchard feel to edible landscapes.
Cultural & Culinary Significance
Raspberries have long held a cherished place in culinary traditions across Europe and North America, where they are used in jams, pastries, cordials, and fresh desserts. The ‘Caroline’ variety continues this legacy with improved vigor and flavor, making it a favorite among home gardeners and small-scale growers. Raspberries symbolize abundance and sweetness in seasonal harvest traditions, often featured in late summer gatherings and farm-to-table cuisine. Their bright, tangy profile pairs beautifully with both sweet and savory dishes, from rustic tarts to gourmet sauces.

Growing Tips
(Also known as: Caroline Raspberry, Everbearing Red Raspberry, Fall-Bearing Raspberry)
Caroline Raspberry thrives in full sun, requiring at least 6–8 hours of direct light daily for optimal fruiting. Plant in well-draining, fertile soil rich in organic matter, with a slightly acidic pH preferred. Maintain consistent moisture, especially during flowering and fruiting, but avoid waterlogged conditions.
This variety performs best in moderate climates but shows improved tolerance to heat compared to other raspberries. It is hardy in cooler regions and can tolerate light frost, though winter protection may be beneficial in colder zones. Fertilize in early spring with a balanced fertilizer or compost to support vigorous growth.
Prune canes annually—remove spent floricanes after fruiting and thin primocanes to improve airflow and productivity. Suitable for both in-ground planting and large containers with support structures like trellises. Growth is moderately fast, and plants benefit from good air circulation to reduce disease pressure. Expect fruit production within the first year on primocanes, with peak yields in subsequent seasons.
