Peanut Butter fruit tastes just like the name implies: like rich, creamy, delicious peanut butter but with the added bonus of a true tropical fruity flavor with a surprisingly light consistency! When ripe, the fruit transforms from a vibrant light color to a cool deep red, like your favorite shade of lipstick.  The fruit is teardrop shaped and just a tad larger than a quarter or a really big grape.

Peanut Butter fruit trees are related to Acerola and native to Venezuela, Colombia, and other parts of South America. Small but intricate yellow flowers start to show in March or early spring and foliage is very attractive year round. The low-maintenance Peanut Butter Fruit tree is essential for any food forest, rare fruit collector, or tropical home landscape.

Planted about 4 months ago and it already has fruit!

So happy I purchased this plant. Bought the x-large. Received it June 1, 2024 and got it planted the next day. Made a potting mix of 50% perlite and 50% sphagnum peat moss. For fertilizer I use Dr Earth Pure Gold All Purpose granules and water with either rain or distilled. For every watering I do mix two pumps of Dr Earth Pump & Grow All Purpose liquid fertilizer per 1 gallon of the water needed. Have it growing indoors in my sunroom. It could have spent the summer outdoors here, but I like being able to control the environment. Picture attached was taken today Sept 27, 2024. Wish I would have taken a before pic for comparison. The growth has been incredible. I do need to put in better support until it becomes more established. Already has three fruits. Can’t believe it produced so fast. Very impressed with this beautiful plant.

    Finally purchased it

As soon as I transplanted into a new pot, it took off. It’s been maybe a month since I had it. It has since started to bud. Can’t wait….

    Update!!!

Kept inside through a brutal AZ summer and the growth finally took off! Took a while but excited to see if we can drop this in the ground in the spring and shade it through summer next year. First picture is from how plant arrived March 2023. Second picture is December 2nd 2023. Good growth sitting in the window inside. You can’t really tell from the picture, but the trunk has doubled in size.

    So Far So Good

Arrived healthy... planted into a pot right away with a soil blend of organic compost, coco coir, perlite. We live in Phoenix, AZ. Potted in early spring. We noticed when overnight temps are in the 60's the plants leaves would droop down and look bad. But then in full direct sunlight the leaves were springy and looked great! We're growing this in a pot as an experiment to see if it will survive and fruit through the rough and hot AZ summer. It's mid June now and the plant leaves are bright green and it's growing upward really well. Will probably repot this in a month into a bigger pot so we can eventually bring inside during the winter months. Hoping eventually we can get it to fruit and then put it into the ground next year in the perfect spot!
