The Malika mango (hybrid 'Neelum' and 'Dasheri') is a variant of mango that is a semi-dwarf, condo mango. It is native to India, and is renown for having superb flavor, unparalleled disease resistance, and a small but extremely productive habit. Malika Mango can be planted in a container and dwarfed to about 6-10 feet. Mango trees have a large wide canopy and their width can span their total height. The yellow fruit is sweet, juicy, and flavorful.
Mallika Mangoes have a tradition of medicinal use in Ayurvedic medicine, where the fruit and plant is known for it's antibiotic and antimicrobial properties. The wood of the tree is extremely useful and often used in the manufacturing of musical instruments.
Mangoes come from the sumac and poison ivy family of plants. In some people handling mangoes may result in an allergic reaction with the skin.
