Davana or Dhavanam, scientifically known as Artemisia pallens, is a fragrant herb celebrated for its sweet, fruity, and slightly woody aroma. Native to the warm climates of southern India, Davana thrives under full sun and requires well-drained soil to flourish. This perennial plant is not only a feast for the senses with its silver-green foliage and small yellow flowers but also a staple in traditional and commercial perfumery.

Growth and Care Essentials Davana plants prefer warm, sunny environments and do best in regions with mild winters. They require moderate watering, especially in dry conditions, and benefit from regular pruning to maintain their shape and encourage denser growth. Planting should occur in well-aerated soil that allows for good drainage to prevent root rot.

Aromatic and Medicinal Uses The leaves and flowers of Davana are highly valued for their volatile essential oils, which are widely used in high-end perfumes and aromatherapy products. The unique property of Davana oil is its chameleon-like quality to smell differently on each person, making it a highly sought-after ingredient in personalized fragrances. Additionally, in traditional medicine, Davana is used for its antiseptic and anti-infective properties.

Create Your Own Fragrant Garden Planting Davana can transform your garden into a haven of aromatic delights, ideal for making homemade essential oils or simply enjoying the natural fragrance in the air.

    Very Small Plant, Now Dying

If you charge $25 plus shipping for a plant, I expect it to be more than a couple month cutting. Incredibly disappointed and won't be purchasing plants here again. The plant is now dying although I've done my best to keep it alive. It just wasn't hardened off and large enough to be shipped and do well. It feels like a money grab. I let customer service know but never got a response.
