I've only had it for a year and had to switch it to 3 different pots bc it kept getting rootbound and losing leaves. First 5-6 months it started to bud and flower. I kept 1 bud on to see if it'd actually take fruit and it did! This plant is a beast, keep it wet and it'll take off.
Thanks for sharing! Looks like your Strawberry Guava is thriving, fruiting in the first year is awesome! Keep up the great care. Happy growing!
Got this one and the lemon cattley and they're both fruiting for the first time right now, about 2 years later.
They're about 4ft tall, and def needed some pruning in order to not grow as bushes- maybe that delayed the fruiting a bit as some of these are known to fruit In the first year.
Anyways- as far as tropicals go these are very easy to grow.
Healthy little plant very happy
So glad to hear your Strawberry Guava is doing well, Calvin. Thanks for sharing, happy growing and enjoy watching it thrive!
Arrived healthy and ready to grow. I am very excited to see how this grows.
My strawberry guava twins arrived late —and showed up stressed like they’d been through a breakup. I replanted them gently, whispered words of encouragement, and now… they’re surviving!
They’re tiny but mighty—I should call them Kelly and Beyoncé because they are survivors.
Can’t wait to see them flourish and produce some sweet fruit.
