The Seminole Pumpkin is Florida's native squash variety, grown by Florida's native population for hundreds of years. However, it is said to originate in either Central America or northern South America.  A vine type, the Seminole Pumpkin is a prolific producer and grows many pumpkins of various sizes and shapes even on a single vine. Some look like traditional pumpkins, some looks like gourds, while others resemble butternut squashes.  Flavor, texture, color, and shape are all very similar to butternut squash.  Flowers are also edible and are often prepared filled with meat or veggies.

Seminole Pumpkin is one of our favorite plants in the Sow Exotic food forest.  We plant every year in the summer, when it's raining heavily, harvest in the winter, and enjoy Seminole Pumpkins all year long. Fruit can weigh up to around 10lbs and lasts for up to a year at room temperature.

Orders placed in colder climate zones during the winter months will automatically be placed on hold until Spring or when temperatures in your area are above freezing on the expected date of delivery.

Heat Packs
Heat packs can be purchased separately to avoid cold weather delays.
