Cocona (Solanum sessiliflorum)
Regular price $19.95Cocona, sometimes called Coconilla in the Amazon and Orinoco river areas of South America, it's native region. Cocona is a unique tropical fruiting and herbaceous shrub in the nightshade family, is closely related to another Sow Exotic favorite, Naranjilla.
The plant has long strong, sturdy branches and huge furry leaves however, unlike the Naranjilla, they are totally thornless. Fruit ranges in color from yellow to deep red and has a bright tomato and lime-like flavor. Cocona fruit typically eaten raw or juiced.
