Delicious and Hardy Olive Tree

Common Names: Arbequina Olive
Family: Oleaceae
Origin: Spain

The Arbequina Olive (Olea europaea) is a hardy and versatile olive tree, prized for its ability to thrive in a variety of climates and for its abundant production of small, flavorful olives. Native to Spain, the Arbequina variety is known for its adaptability and ability to grow well in both Mediterranean and temperate climates. The tree is highly productive, yielding small, aromatic olives that are perfect for making high-quality olive oil or enjoyed as table olives. Arbequina olive oil is prized for its smooth, buttery flavor with fruity and nutty undertones.

Distinctive Features, Uses, and Nutritional Value

Fruits: Arbequina olives are small, oval, and green, ripening to a deep purple or black. They are known for their high oil content, which produces a mild, fruity olive oil that is perfect for cooking, dressings, and dipping. The olives can also be brined and eaten as table olives

Foliage: The tree has silver-green, lance-shaped leaves that shimmer in the sunlight, making it an attractive ornamental plant.

Growth Habit: Arbequina Olive trees are compact and bushy, typically growing 10-20 feet tall, making them ideal for small gardens, patios, or containers.

Culinary and Medicinal Uses

Arbequina olives are primarily used to produce extra virgin olive oil, which is known for its mild, buttery, and slightly fruity flavor. The oil is excellent for drizzling on salads, dipping bread, or cooking. The olives themselves can be cured and eaten as a savory snack or added to Mediterranean-style dishes.

Olive oil, especially extra virgin, is rich in monounsaturated fats and antioxidants like vitamin E, which support heart health, reduce inflammation, and improve skin health.

    Good product, poor customer service

The olive trees came packaged well and in good condition but it took them an entire month to get here. I was trying to be patient with shipping times, but after going two weeks with no tracking info, I reached out to customer service through email and got no response. I tried to call the phone number and left a few messages with no one calling me back and after waiting another few days I sent another customer service email to a different address since there are two listed on their website. While waiting for someone to email me back my order had finally gotten a tracking number. Then of course I get an email back saying my order had been shipped. Well in fact it got a tracking number but took another week to get picked up and start making its way here.

I was so excited when these came back in stock as I was in the waiting list. Based on the experience I had getting ahold of someone to help me and how long it took with 0 communication I probably would not order from this site again.

    Hi Kat,

We're really sorry to hear about the frustration you experienced with your order. We understand how disappointing it must have been to wait a month for delivery with little communication along the way, and we sincerely apologize that our customer service team didn't respond to your emails and calls in a timely manner. That's not the level of support we strive to provide, and you deserved better.

We're glad to hear that your Arbequina olive trees arrived in good condition, and we truly appreciate your patience in working through this experience with us. Your feedback is really important to us, and we're taking it seriously as we work to improve our communication and overall customer service going forward.

Thank you for being on our waiting list and for giving us the opportunity to get these trees to you. We hope you'll consider giving us another chance in the future. - SowExotic Team

Looks great and healthy - waiting to see olives within two years 😀

The plant came in great shape and a good size as well. Seems to have adapted to my garden favorably
