Ficus carica, known by most people as the common fig, is a plant native to the Middle East and Western Asia. It is in the mulberry family of plants, and thrives in Mediterranean like climates.

Little Ruby Fig is a self-pollinating variant. It is a dwarf fig tree that abundantly produces sweet, strawberry-colored, medium-sized fruit. Little Ruby is a gorgeous fruiting and ornamental tree that also makes an excellent specimen for bonsai or container gardening.

The fruit of the fig tree is a great source of fiber and manganese. The fig fruit contains several phytochemicals that contribute to good health.
