    Yum!

My Fwang Tung is about 7 years old, and It makes lots and lots (and lots and lots) of fruit. Many people (friends and neighbors) eat from this one tree, so I rarely need to throw away unused fruit. People with kidney disease should consult their doctors before eating it. When the fruit is perfectly ripe, it’s sweet and juicy. It’s more tart when the fruit is under-ripe. The tree generally fruits from early summer through January. The branches go all the way to the ground. I pruned it pretty hard a couple of times because I have a small garden and It is planted a little too close to a fence. But it has recovered. The tree needs protection from wind, especially cold winter winds, so I have it close to the house. It also needs to be kept watered during prolonged dry spells. Oh, and it’s really pretty. We love this variety. Highly recommended.

    Absolutely delicious.

I have one of these and the taste of the fruit has gained me many friends and admirers over the years. It does need water when the weather is dry. Mine is on the downwind side of my house to protect it from cold, winter winds. Also, it’s a beautiful plant even when it’s not fruiting. Highly recommended.
