Quail Berry, also known as Christmasberry, is an evergreen perennial shrub native to Florida. It is a member of the Celastraceae (Bittersweet) family, related to Maiden Berry. An ideal ground cover, it spreads its sharp lobed, holly-like leaves at a slow pace and grows red berries throughout the year. Albeit the berries are edible, the mildly sweet fruits are mainly attractive to birds, including quails!
