Feather Leaf Guava, a rare and striking variety of Psidium guajava, stands out for its delicate, finely divided foliage and delicious fruit. Native to tropical and subtropical regions, this small tree or shrub thrives in zones 9-11, making it an excellent choice for warm climates or as a container-grown specimen in cooler areas. The unique, feathery leaves provide an ornamental touch, adding texture and elegance to any landscape or garden.

The fruit of the Feather Leaf Guava is sweet, aromatic, and rich in vitamin C. Its flavor profile is perfect for eating fresh, juicing, or making jams, jellies, and desserts. With its manageable size and striking appearance, this guava variety is as beautiful as it is productive, making it a favorite among gardeners seeking both form and function.

Plant in well-draining soil in a location with full sun to partial shade. Water regularly during the establishment phase, but ensure the soil doesn’t become waterlogged. Prune lightly to shape and maintain airflow, especially in container-grown specimens.

The plant looks healthy but it’s much smaller and younger than I expected. I have not transplanted it yet as the weather has not been good but I’m not putting in the ground until it starts developing new leaves and shows signs of new growth.
