Flowering Maple (Abutilon pictum)
Flowering Maple, also known as Red Vein Indian Mallow or Chinese Lander, is a flowering shrub or small tree native to Brazil. It's smooth green foliage resembles that of a maple tree, however it is from the hibiscus and okra family of plants.
Flowering Maple blooms gorgeous red-veined lantern flowers nearly year round. It makes a great potted plant and can easy be grown or overwintered indoors. Flowers are edible and have a light, sweet flavor. They can be eaten raw or cooked.
