The Sugar Loaf Pineapple, also known as the Kona Pineapple or Brazilian White Pineapple, is a seedless perennial fruiting plant native to South America. A member of the Bromeliaceae family, the Sugar Loaf Pineapple is a favored variety among its Pineapple relatives!

The Sugar Loaf Pineapple is a juicy delicacy of white-fleshed, floral-fragrance perfection. Honey sweet and non-stringy, the fruit’s texture lacks the fibrous, woody feeling of usual pineapple cores and carries very little acidity. Its waxy rind remains mostly green with warm yellow undertones even when ripe. Regularly eaten out of hand, the Sugar Loaf Pineapple can also be enjoyed on the grill or thrown into salads or smoothies.

With gorgeous glossy leaves of dark, smooth green, The Sugar Loaf Pineapple plant loves rainfall, grows at an average speed of a couple or so years to fruit, and doesn’t tolerate temperatures below 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Container friendly, its a great one to bring inside for winter. Producing fruits of 4-6 lbs each, it’s a fruit to share with the whole family!
