RARE & LIMITED AVAILABILITY:  Santol (aka Yellow Mangosteen, Wild Mangosteen, or Dragonfruit) is a rare and unique tropical fruit tree from Southeast Asia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. Santol is fast-growing and can reach heights up to 50-150 ft tall. The exotic mangosteen-esque fruit is delicious with a sweet and acidic flavor. The inner pulp is white and fluffy like a cloud and typically consumed raw. The fruit can also be used to make jams and preserves. In Florida the fruit ripens in August and September.

    Purchase time is critical

I purchased my first Santol in late winter 2024, I received a stick. By late spring it did not show any activity. Sow Exotic said it was hibernating. As of September 2024, it remain a stick.

I decided to give it another time when Sow advertised the trees have leaves. I received a slightly freight damaged two years old tree that was full of leaves. I feel that this tree has a chance to thrive.

NEVER purchase small plants from Sow. Unfortunately, all the truly exotic plants are sold small. Small plants are seedlings. I have obtained about seven small plants-all dead.
