🌿 Growing Green From Our Nursery to Your Door
Sow Exotic’s Plastic-Free Packaging, Sustainable Shipping, and How It All Works!
At Sow Exotic, we believe in growing greener, and it doesn’t stop at our plants. From our plastic-free packaging to our eco-friendly shipping practices, everything we do is designed to protect the planet while helping you grow the food forest of your dreams. Whether you’re unboxing your first mango tree in Florida or your 10th ice cream banana in Alaska, you’ll notice we’ve put a lot of care into what we send—and how we send it.
Here’s everything you need to know about our plastic-free packaging, sustainable shipping, and what to expect when your new plants are on the way!
🌎 Plastic-Free Packaging: Good for Plants, Great for the Earth!
We’ve said goodbye to plastic and hello to plant-based, compostable, reusable, recyclable, and biodegradable materials! Every Sow Exotic order is packed with eco-friendly goodness from the soil to the shipping tape.
Here's what you’ll find in your box:
🌱 Plantable Coconut Coir Pots
- Our medium (4”) and large (1-gallon) come in plantable pots, ready to go straight into the ground or a bigger container. They’re breathable, support healthy root growth, and break down naturally over time.
- Citrus plants are the exception—due to USDA regulations, they ship in recyclable nursery pots, but we’re working hard to keep everything as eco-friendly as possible.
📦 Recycled & Recyclable Cardboard Boxes
- Sturdy, sustainable boxes made in the USA from recycled materials. They protect your plants in transit and can be reused, recycled, or even composted!
- We pack snugly, using recycled kraft paper and cardboard inserts instead of plastic fillers.
🌿 Compostable Moisture Bags
- Roots & Pots are wrapped in plant-based, biodegradable bags that hold in moisture and prevent soil spills. We use bags made from eucalyptus cellulose that are 100% compostable and break down without leaving harmful residue.
🪴 Compostable Tape
- We seal each box with water-activated, compostable kraft paper tape.
