Feather Meal is a strong lightweight organic fertilizer, prized for its slow-release of nitrogen. This is due to the Keratin content (that good stuff that strengthens our nails, hair, skin, and organs). This makes Feather Meal a great soil amendment option for heavy-feeding plants, nutrient-depleted soils, and long-season crops.

The high nitrogen content of Feather Meal is perfect for increasing green leaf growth and encouraging decay in compost. The fibrous structure of feather meal helps to improve the physical quality of soil. Crops that need steady, long-lasting nitrogen will love Feather Meal. Because of its low water solubility, leaching is almost nonexistent. The nitrogen becomes available to plants through microbial activity.

  • Analysis: (13-0-0)
  • Amazing source of essential nutrient nitrogen!
  • Provides maximum benefits for plants requiring a steady long lasting supply of nitrogen
  • Great fertilizer for fall because of it’s slow breakdown ratio
  • Accelerates growth and promotes consistent growth
  • 5 lb bag
How to Feather Meal:
  • It should be incorporated before planting or side dressed throughout the growing season to provide a steady release of nitrogen necessary for optimum plant growth.
  • It's best applied directly to the soil, mixed into the top few inches as it is not water-soluble and must be in contact with soil particles and soil microorganisms to begin the decomposition process.
