For those who are new to our site and our project, here's a little intro. We're on a mission to grow the world's largest collection of rare fruiting and medicinal plants! We're Brittany, Jared, little George, two cats and a brand new pup - cultivating a tropical paradise off the beaten path on our 2-acre edible and medicinal plant nursery, food forest, and certified wildlife habitat in beautiful central Florida.
We're currently looking for volunteers to help grow, maintain, and create plant nursery and food forest areas - where something rare, exotic, and nutritious is always in season and fresh fruit can be picked daily!
Help needed and activities may include:
- Preparing space for new gardens
- Plant nursery work
- Food forest maintenance
- Gardening: planting fruits, herbs, annual veggies, flowers
- Harvesting any of the above
- Landscape design
- Art projects
- Help with plant order prep or shipping
- Land clearing/cleaning
- Greenhouse/new structure building
- Trail building
- General maintenance
Groups and individuals welcome. All Volunteers go home with some fresh delicious goodness (whatever herbs or fruit we can harvest that day) and a few cool plants!
If you're looking for a unique and genuinely immersive internship opportunity in the world of biodynamic agriculture, you're going to love interning with Sow Exotic! Work and learn alongside us to accomplish any of the above projects. Contact email@example.com to learn more about our various internship opportunities.
WWOOF + Workaway
We're excited to start hosting WWOOF (Worldwide Opportunities on Organic Farms) and Workaway volunteers in 2019! Visit us on WWOOF or Workaway.info to apply.
"Brittany & Jared (and their son George) (and puppy Bagel and the crazy kitties Stephen and J-J) were awesome hosts. Their hospitality was above and beyond, from the accommodations to the fantastic food they prepared. They are very skilled and knowledgeable about their processes and are gracious to share their knowledge. Their farm feels like being in the Tuscan countryside, yet is so close to the downtown Lakeland scene. Glad we were able to have one of our first Wwoof experiences here, and would recommend them to any new or experienced Wwoofer." - WWOOFers Scott & Amy, January 2019
